QUESTIONS: Is there some other way to deal with Trolls besides just the old DNFTT? Is there some kind of "Troll-Repellant" to keep them from bothering us? How about a strategy to "Troll them before they Troll us?" You know - "fight Troll with Troll", so to speak!
I went looking for more troll info and ideas here on Newsvine, and found a lot of articles. A lot! It seems there are a great many people here in the Newsvine Community who share the same concerns I do, and probably you do too, about trolls, how damn annoying they are and how best to deal with them. I've listed the links to a few of these articles below. Good info, but still no really solid or successful strategies to defeat these irritating ignorant idiots. (Please note: I am NOT naming names, just referring to trolls in a generic manner, so there is no CoH violation.)
QUESTIONS: Do YOU have any ideas on how to deal with trolls, prevent trolls, erase, remove and delete trolls? What is YOUR very BEST ADVICE on dealing with trolls? I really want to know!!!
I know about the DNFTT - Do Not Feed The Trolls default. I even wrote an article about that! But it's just not working.
Reporting trolls to the Newsvine Moderators isn't too effective either, because I've reported them many many times, and nothing much seems to be happening on that score as far as I can tell.
Maybe if you read some of these other articles it'll remind you of some good troll management ideas you can share. Or perhaps these articles might give you an idea of something new that we haven't tried yet.

Am I obsessed with the subject of TROLLS? Well, to be honest, maybe just a little. You see, I have this creepy stalker troll, whose name I will not mention for fear of committing a CoH violation. I beat it in a debate some weeks ago, but it can't seem to let it go. You want to talk about OBSESSED! This creep is super obsessed that I beat it, and wants a re-match. I'm just not interested in wasting any more of my time with this stalker troll or any other trolls for that matter! (And remember, I have NOT named any names here, so there is NO CoH Violation from me!) That's why I'm looking for a good TROLL REPELLANT, to get rid of this creepy stalker-troll who is obsessed with me!!!
Apparently I'm Living In This Stalker-Troll's Head - Rent Free, but the thing is: I want to break that lease and move out of that mental slum/ghetto. Except for the fact that this creepy stalking troll just keeps following me around, posting nonsense comments, trying to re-engage me in another pointless debate with it. But, that ain't ever going to happen!
I will NEVER EVER respond to this creepy Stalker-Troll EVER AGAIN! So why won't it just GO AWAY? I've reported this pathetic fool several times already, but nothing's happened yet. So, that's why I'm looking for new ideas to get rid of this creepy crackpot.
