I am Jesus, And So are You!
How did I come to this revelation?
Does it matter?
No, not really. Because, no matter what I'd write, or how I might try to explain it, there are going to be some people who read this and say that I'm just being a narcissist, and others who'll accuse me of being condescending. Those are two words I've been repeatedly called here on the Newsvine for the past few weeks or more.
So, lets just skip all that crap and get right down to it, shall we?
Why do I think I am Jesus Christ?
And, how can I possibly think that if I am Jesus Christ, that you are too? (By the way, even if you aren't a Christian, I still believe YOU are Jesus Christ in my eyes and heart.)
Well, it comes down to just this one simple lesson Jesus taught us. In plain words he basically said...
When I was hungry you fed me. When I was thirsty you gave me water. I was a stranger to you, and still you invited me into your home. When I had no clothes, you gave me some. Even when I was sick and in prison you helped me and visited me.
And when he was saying these things to his disciples, they were totally confused, and they asked him...
When did we ever see YOU hungry or without any water? When were YOU ever without clothing? When were YOU ever sick that you needed care? YOU, Jesus, have never been in prison, what the heck are YOU talking about?
And he looked back at them and said...
Whenever you did any of these kind things I described, to any of my brothers and sisters, you were doing them to and for me.
That's basically the gist of Matthew 25: 34-40
In modern terms, those things Jesus was talking about in his day are comparable to things we do today, like: donating to charities, giving blood, helping little old ladies across the street, being courteous to each other, and so forth and so on ...
Like J.C. said...
Matthew 25:40 … Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. - King James Bible "Authorized Version", Pure Cambridge Edition
And, inasmuch as you treat people with meanness, cruelty, carelessness, contempt, disgust, derision, malice, harshness, neglect, rudeness, scorn, disrespect, ridicule, and any other mean or evil feelings you may heap upon people who you believe are somehow below you, and even those who may be above you in the social order like a failed political candidate for example, or even when you are just being nasty and calling each other names here on Newsvine or making false accusations or even "troll dancing" when someone gets banned from the Newsvine, that's when you do unto Jesus as you have done unto them. Because, like you and me, they are Jesus Christ too!
We are all Jesus Christ. All of us. Each and every one of us. That includes the Christian, the Jew, the Moslem, as well as Mormons, Hindus, Scientologists, Buddhists, and even Atheists and everyone else I could possibly list here including young and old, poor and rich, blacks and whites, browns and yellows, and even Republicans as well as Democrats.
When Jesus said: As you do unto the “least of these my brethren” he wasn't making a value judgement on anyone. He wasn't talking about the 1 percent, or the 47 percent. He was talking about ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of all the people we know and deal with! J.C. was saying; whatever you do and however you treat anyone and everyone, is how you are treating me, Jesus Christ. That's what he was saying. He was saying; if you call yourself one of his followers, then whenever you deal with people, any and all people, treat them the same as you would if they were him, Jesus Christ, and if you can do just that then you can't go wrong.
Now, if you still say you believe in Jesus Christ and that you're a Christian, yet still you think you have some kind of right to treat certain other people like crap, and with disrespect, well... You don't know Jack! And you don't know Jesus either!
Nobody is perfect, and we all slip from time to time. That's a fact! We're only human and so we are flawed. But, if we keep trying to self-correct and do as J.C. taught us, then at least we're trying. And I'm pretty sure he's okay with that. So, good luck and ...
God Bless You!
p.s. And if I have ever done anything to disrespect YOU, then I am truly sorry and apologize. I know I'm not perfect, and I'm still learning and trying to self-correct. That's how I came to this revelation in the first place.
