If you're new, or at least new to this part of Newsvines like I am, then … well … you're in for a lot of FUN!

This is my personal PSA (Public Service Announcement) about something you may have known for a long time, that I just recently discovered.  Or, maybe you're just finding out about it like I did.  To me this is a revelation!

If you look at my personal Newsvines Column page, you'll see I've been a Newsvines member for over two and a half years.  But, it's only been recently, literally in the last week, that I've really finally discovered how fun Newsvines can really be.

Up until a week ago, all I really ever used Newsvines for was to post my comments, along with the millions of comments of others, on various news items that appeared on the MSNBC and then NBCNEWS.com pages.  Sometimes I was rewarded with complimentary replies in return, but more often than not my comments went ignored as far as I knew, or they drew some really nasty responses from intolerant people who obviously do not agree with my point of view.  

I can't tell you the number of times I was called a something-tard, idiot,  moron and worse.  And, I have to admit in all honesty, after that started happening to me I was no shrinking violet and would often reply in-kind.  I'm pretty sure I gave as well as I got.  But, the funny thing is, after the momentary satisfaction of dishing-back out to them who first dished to me, it wasn't all that satisfying.  I felt really bad that I lowered myself to that level.  But, what else could I do?

Finally, out of frustration, I decided I needed to find some other way to get my opinions out, or just quit this place altogether.  That's when I discovered for the first time, after being on Newsvines for over two and a half years, that here was a place I could actually post my own articles.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  I can post stuff that I have written myself, that will stay available for more than the couple days that the regular news articles last?  Hot damn!!!

To put it mildly, once I started posting my own stuff, I went ape-crap crazy!  In two days, August 31st and September 1st, I posted sixteen (16) of my own self-written articles.  Gawd that was fun! 

But then, the next shoe dropped.

People started posting their comments to my stuff.  Real people here on these Newsvines, Viners, took an interest in what I had to say and commented back to me.  Holy Crappola Batman!  This is SO COOL!!!  I was an author!  I am an author!!!

And these were NICE PEOPLE too!  Not one of them has yet called me a something-tard or anything like that.  We converse, back and forth through our comments, like real civilized adult people.  HOW GREAT IS THAT?

That was just 7 days ago that I started posting my own articles as I write this - my latest article to post to you on September 6th, 2012.

You know, I wondered how the heck they found out about my stuff, but didn't think much about that until a guy named Eric of Oklahoma emailed me to ask how he could get his articles noticed. 

Ask me?  ROTFLMAO!  He was asking me for advice!  I just started, and I didn't really have a clue how any of this stuff worked, and here Eric was asking me for advice.  But, that gave me an idea, so I wrote a new article and posted it in the wee minutes of the morning on September 5th.  I titled my article "How did YOU find ME? Please HELP."  And it got noticed!  Man did it get noticed!  More than any of the previous 16 articles I had already posted, this one got hits and comments.

And people Voted for it and left me Notes.  And these comments are from the nicest folks I have met anywhere online.  I wish I could name them all for you here right now, but YOU can find out who they are just as easily by going to that article and reading their actual comments for yourself.  And you really should take a look, because these people are so great!  They've offered me advice, encouragement, a little bit of criticism, but it's good constructive criticism!  This is SO COOL!!!  (I know, I said that before, but it's true.)

This is the MOST FUN I have ever had on the internet ever, and I highly recommend it to all.  And that's why I had to write this to let you know. 

Also, to thank all of them for their help and support.  And, to thank all of YOU here now reading this, and of you in the future who come to read my articles and seeds, and Vote and maybe even leave me a Note or two.
